Newgrange

The tomb of Newgrange was likely built 3.200 BC and is just an hour bus ride in the north of Dublin. Be early to assure you can enter the tomb with a guide, as access is limited. It is even nicer, when the weather is fine and the sky clear. Lucky me! Still room for Interpretations, Newgrange is a hotspot on ther winter solistice, as at this time the sun directly enlightens the vault. So did it serve as a calender?

Das Ganggrab von Newgrange wurde ca. 3.200 v.Ch. erbaut und ist in einer Stunde von Dublin mit dem Bus erreichbar. Früh sein lohnt sich, denn der Zugang ist limitiert.Was Newgrange wirklich war, lässt Platz für Interpretationen. Aber um die Wintersonnenwende rum, flutet das Sonnenlicht die Grabkammer in Gänze.  Könnte damit als Kalender gedient haben.

Cliffs of Moher

A day with the lads at the Cliffs of Moher. You have breathtaking views from the cliffs, which are suggested to be the most famous at the west coast of Ireland. At the heighest point the cliffs can have more than 200 metres. You can see people sitting at the edge and legs over. Brrrrrh! Scary.

Mit den Jungs war ich heute an den Steilhängen von Cliffs of Moher. Sagenhafte Sicht in die Tiefe. An ihrem höchsten Punkt haben die Klippen eine Höhe von über 200m. Man sieht furchtlose Leute für ein Foto-Posing an der Kante sitzen. Gruselig.

Dublin Bay

Is it Ipanema of Rio de Janeiro? It can be the first idea in your mind, looking at the picture. Though it is Dublin Bay, a view from the Killiney Hill Park. The very south of Dublin around Dalkey is one of the most affluent parts of the city. 

Ist dies der Strand von Ipanema? Könnte man fast meinen, jedoch geht der Blick auf die Dublin Bay, wenn man auf dem Killiney Hill Park spazieren geht. Die Ecke um Dalkey im Tiefen Süden von Dublin gehört zu den wohlhabendsten Gegenden der ganzen Stadt.
