Bye, Bye Dublin!

After 18months in Dublin, the moment arrived end of june to say farewell and thank you very much for so many new things I experienced the last months. It will last a lifetime. Just to mention a few outstanding features:

• Beer (Guinness, Franciscan Well, O'Haras, Murphys and many others)
• Sport (Rugby, Gaellic Football, Hurling, Football)
• Bars (Brew Dock, Ferrymann, The Long Hall, The Gravedigger, The Cobblestones and many others)
• Trips (Electric Picnic, Cork Jazz Festival, Wicklow Way, Connemara Way, Antrim Coast)

YES, it was something new!

A stunning trip to the Mourne Mountains in the Ulster region could also give you a little feeling of being in China. However the Mourne wall only has 35km and was not built to deter the enemy of invading the area, but to protect the water reservoir which supplies the city of Belfast. Great trails and views are worth a trip. Start from Newcastle.  

Ein toller Ausflug zum Mourne Gebirge in der Region Ulster könnte dich auf die Gedanken bringen in China zu sein. Jedoch hat die Mourne Mauer nur eine Länge von 35km und war nicht dazu gebaut worden Feinde am Einmarsch zu hindern, aber immerhin das Wasser Reservoir zu shützen, dass Belfast versorgt. Großartige Wanderwege und Aussichten sind allemal ein Ausflug wert. Start ist von Newcastle.

Good looking

It's not only for hiking, but you can encounter as well real beauties in the Dublin mountains. Like these two horses, which were very curious when I passed by. I would recommend the big one to go for haircutting once in a while.

Neben dem Wandern gibt es in den Dublin Mountains noch andere Schönheiten. Wie diese zwei Gestalten, die neugierig daher blickten, als ich vorbeimarschierte. Ich würde allerdings der Großen empfehlen, öfter mal zum Haareschneiden zu gehn.

Tomorrow children it will give what for

The Dublin Mountains has plenty of hiking trails. I was for a hike in the Glenasmole Valley, where you can pass the Bohernabreena Reservoir, uphill to the Hell Fire Club and finishing in the Merryploughboys Pub. And I spotted Rubber boots filled with soil and flowers! I am over and over delighted by the creativity of the Irish. Do they empty the boots for Christmas?

In den 'Dublin Mountains' gibt es viele Wanderwege. Ich bin einmal im Glenasmole Tal wandern gewesen, vorbei am Bohernabreena Reservoir, dann hoch zum 'Hell Fire Club' und idealerweise eine Einkehr im Merryploughboys 'Public House' zum Abschluss. Und ich habe diese mit Erde und Blumen gefüllten Gummistiefel am Wegesrand entdeckt! Immer und immer wieder bin ich von der Kreativität der Iren begeistert. Werden die Stiefel extra an Weihnachten geleert? 

Studying

The National Museum is located in the Collins Barracks, and no wonder you can visit exhibitions about military history or another exhibition about the 1916 Rising. There is no indication what the fellow is studying shown in the picture.

Das National Museum befindet sich in der Collins Kaserne, und kein Wunder gibt es dort Ausstellungen ueber Militaergeschichte und eine weitere der unzaehligen 1916er Ausstellungen. Keine Ahnung, was der Kamerad auf dem Bild gerade studiert.

Kaiser von der Kop

After our training in Warwick I grabbed the chance and drove to the north of England and thanks to a colleague could get a ticket for a Premier League game in Anfield to watch how "Der Normale Ein" is doing. Wow, great experience in this football temple (Result 4-1 vs. Stoke City).

Nach unserem Training in Warwick, hab ich die Gelegenheit ergriffen, und bin in den Norden Englands gefahren. Dank eines Kollegen konnte ich ein Ticket fuer ein Premier League Spiel an der Anfiel Road ergattern, um den "Normale Ein" bei der Arbeit zu sehen. Wow, super Erfahrung in diesem Fussball Tempel (Ergebnis 4-1 gegen Stoke City).
