Glendalough

On the Wickloy Way we had a stop over in the Valley of the two lakes, better known as Glendalough. The old Monastery originates from the 6th century and has a great old graveyard. Above the upper Lake goes along a hiking trail, which I tried for half a way in the early morning hours before we continued our next stage on the Wicklow Way. Unfortunately hard to get there with public transport, otherwise I would visit the Valley more often.  

Auf dem Wicklow Way hatten wir Aufenthalt im Tal der Zwei Seen, auch besser bekannt unter Glendalough. Die alte Abtei stammt aus dem 6.Jahrhundert und hat einen prima alten Friedhof. Oberhalb des oberen Sees entlang führt ein Wanderweg, den ich zur Hälfte am frühen Morgen gegangen bin bevor wir unsere nächste Etappe des Wicklow Way gestartet haben. Leider ist die Anbindung mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln nicht so gut, sonst würde ich öfters mal dort vorbei schauen.
