Cashel and Kilkenny

One of the landmarks in Tipperary and Ireland is the Rock of Cashel, which once was made seat of the bishop by the holy St. Patrick in the 5th century. But also Brian Boru (Boru who? More in the Clontarf Post to follow) called the castle his home and was crowned at this spot.
Der Rock of Cashel wurde im 5. Jahrhundert vom Paddy zum Bischofssitz erklärt und auch Brian Boru (seine Story kommt später im Clontarf Post) war hier und hat sich die Krone aufgesetzt.                             

Kilkenny was then the last station of this extended weekend trip to the SouthEast of Ireland. Hometown of Kilkenny, a mild Red Ale and a stronghold for Hurling. Apart from visiting the Castle you may find time to have a pint in a range of good pubs in the Parliament Street. 

Das milde Red Ale Kilkenny kommt von hier und abgesehen vom Kilkenny Castle kann man in den zahlreichen Pubs (z.B. in der Parliament Street) sich die Zeit vertreiben. Zudem ist K. Hochburg des Hurling. Aber dazu später mehr!
